And the Earth burns in fever trying to get rid of the infection of mankind. Each year higher temperatures, the number of violent Meteor, manifested as hurricanes or storms will have, it comes in increase. Due to the weakening of the ozone layer (whose natural function is to protect us from solar radiation), as result of carbon, skin cancer was defined as the more frequent. Then, how can civilization continue with the technological developments that improve our quality of life, without affecting the environment? How to ensure a continuous growth of civilization, more equitable and egalitarian, both for all humanity, for other species on the planet? Organization of the United Nations, in the Decade of the 80’s made famous, the concept of sustainable development (also known as sustainable development), defined by the World Commission for environment and development, as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the capabilities that have future generations to meet their own needs. It is essentially achieve growth, considering and controlling the side effects that can generate, i.e. it will not be solely focused on economic goals, but also on side effects.

In other words, to understand that the end does not justify the means, and that the way that would achieve several advances in technological, economic and productive, must not impair social or environmental aspects in the way, but instead, must go hand in hand, so that a breakthrough in an area leads to progress in other. Some understand this as a result of negotiating win – win, is say nobody comes out injured. The aim would be that three aspects or so-called pillars of sustainable development (economic, social and environmental) remain interconnected and interrelated, forming what some authors have called the virtuous circle of sustainable development, in our case change such designation by virtuous spiral of sustainable development, which if achieved, its dynamics will keep us improving continuously, so a spiral represents better this situation than a circle.
